Ran South Hills. Very, and I mean very steep hills. Lots of ups and downs, ran for 2 hrs.

Hey Brian - glad to see you on the blog! Sounds like a great run - did you run up Hillcrest? That's where I live and my normal haunts. Those hills are pretty decent.

Russ - We actually ran the motorcycle trails! We started about 1/2 mile from the gas station, went straight up the hill, then ran a nice distance toward the southeast. It was crazy - you should try it sometime!

Nice! Never thought about running the motorcycle trails - awesome! Not sure I'm up for that just yet, but maybe someday. Did you make "vroom vroom" noises as you ran up the single track?

Was huffn & puffn, and quite frankly too frightened going up the steep trail to make any motorcycle like sounds!

Ran before bootcamp, from YMCA to around Pioneer Park.  A nice warm-up/recovery run from previous days brutal hill session.

Folowing Hal's Advanced II program. 

Got up early, did my first ever 'hill repeats (x 5)' on Senators. Perfect length, right at .25 mile. I enjoyed the session, was definitely like track repeats but 'different', certainly less impact (except for the one I did downhill)! Hit the free weight room at lunch, body weight excercises (chin ups, pull ups, dips). Curls, flys w/ 40s & 50s, a few squats, but mostly upper body. Finished up w/ about 10 min of ab work - 10 min stretch.

Recovery day from yesterday's hill session.  Definitely felt it when I started out this morning.  My running partner maggie (labrador retreiver, about 80 lbs) used to cover a lot of ground with me.  Now that she's 7, she's enjoys the slower pace.  Warmed up with her for a mile, dropped her back off at home then took off for 4 miles.  Felt great after the warm-up, maintained a meduim pace and really enjoyed the morning!  Will hit up bootcamp over lunch, then finish my evening off w/ a co-ed softball game. Looking forward to tomorrow's 40 min tempo.

40 minute tempo run at lunch from YMCA to Pioneer Park, cirled it 3 x's, daylis track 4 x's for total of 5 miles.  Felt good during the middle of the tempo run, considering yesterday's complete rest.
